Parts for 1937 R5 Bike

Hi guys,

I am new here. Just bought the remains of a 1937 R5 bike (frame and fuel tank only).

I will be happy to purchase every part of R5 bike you are willing to sell. Especially looking for hubs, front forks and complete rear drive.

I know very well that the parts are very rare and hard to get so spare me the lecture... (:

To the best of your knowledge, will a lower fork yoke from a 1938 R51 fit an R5? Are the front forks the same?

Hi, its hard to get anything from r5 bmw in fair price. I am looking for the frame and rear drive (bevel) for a long time.
Got r51 and i dont think so the lower yoke is the same in late r5 and early r51, will ask my friend who got R5 forks to take a picture.
Here you got early r51 on picture.
If you want to sell your r5 frme one day let me know.

The R51 lower yoke does not look the same as R5.

Any parts you can offer for my R5? You know someone who can?

You can install a fork from an R51-71 onto an R5-6. The forks themselves are very different, however, and there are no common parts.

I think that almost very part you would want for a R5 is now available. The front end used to be very difficult to find, but they now reproduce that too. Of cours, you need to deal with the various suppliers in Germany, CZ, or Poland. I thin parts for this model is very hard to find in USA?

Can you provide a supplier for the front forks? To the best of my knowledge this is the only part that is not reproduced.

Try german ebay seller "5681jiri" in Plzen/Pilsen, CZ...looks pretty good on the pics, but will need some work...Heft sells fork tubes for R5-R6 is jiri's are found to be bent...also, he's selling '36 type headlamp mounts, and AFAIK, the '37 version is NLA...much good luck with your project!...

We have seen these forks in Veterama. If you are interested in they belongs to the friend of my friend and they are for sale.
I can only say not cheap but for last 3 years while we are going there the prices of prewar staff going up and up.
Price 3k euro.
