1931 Typ R2 original german "handbuch" found

Post by nealstephens »

Hello to the community. This seems to be one of the best places I've found to put this "found" item out there - an original 1931 BMW Typ R2 german text "handbuch". It is accompanied by a couple of registration docs, one from 1948, and another where a US Army Sargent stationed in Germany bought it, dated 1972. Just seems to add to the interest... Anyone know of an "enthusiast" or collector that might be interested in this piece, or could place a value on it? Thanks! NStephens

Any chance on tracking names

Any chance on tracking names in the registration down...in case someone still has the bike?

R2 VIN

Do you have the frame number or engine number? There is a registry of R2 owners.

Hi All,

I now own this manual and ownership docs. Turns out this bike is still alive! and here in the states no less. I have contacted the owner and we are talking.

Amazing to find this actual bike is still in 1 piece and fully restored.

Update

Hi,

The bike and the owners documents are now re-united - The documents were found in Arkansas, and the Bike in Washington State. They are both now in Southern Cal.!

Feels good to have brought them both together again.
