Dear Mr J Wonder; Tom here , Warrenton va resident about an hour half from the Va state fair grounds at Doswell va . Having been there many times I am pleased to report it is a huge old farm park once part of the Paul Mellon horse breeding operation. There are large buildings and plenty of room and parking. Nearby is Kings Dominion a large family summer attraction. Motels are limited. I assume this is the venue the MOA has reserved. Perhaps our fellow Virginian and vintage bmw rider Patric is closer by at Colonial Heights. I am Glad to help this club organize from here. Sincerely. Tom
BMW has already picked up the R54Rennsport, the R51SS, and the Kneeler. They're getting them pretty for the camera and the anniversary book. Plan on stopping at the event around June on the way to the MOA National.
The bikes will be on display at the 100th anniversary exhibit at the museum in Greer, SC for about 6 months.
Hi mr j wonder; Three months to go until the big vintage rally in Doswell va. Tom is busy getting his old bikes ready for the bike parade. How is it best to register? When is check in? Is it a security building the bikes will be displayed in and locked at night? Did you get a block of rooms nearby hotel or is up to each to book a room or pop up tents? Will the Vintage club have technical speakers or demonstrations of bikes? Will there be a vintage club ride out around the countryside? Will vintage club have a members meeting with trophy time at the rally? Is there going to be a vintage club rally medallion or polo shirt for this special 100 BMW bike year rally? Will there be a vintage parts swap meet somewhere at the site? It’s Time to polish engines and paint. Thanks for answers to questions. Tom silbersiepe Catlett va. R16 1930
