Every Labor Day weekend, the Finger Lakes BMW club holds a rally in Watkins Glen, NY. The site is in the heart of the beautiful Finger Lakes region, and the riding there is awesome. On Sunday, there is vintage bike judging. Anyone showing up with a vintage BMW gets to bring their bike into the inner sanctum, and display it for judging. (peoples choice). I try to go most years and ride a vintage BMW when I can. Three years ago my R26 won "best vintage single". The fact that my R26 was the ONLY vintage single does not take away
from the award, which hangs proudly in my garage. They could certainly use more vintage BMW's showing up. Here's the web site:
