Fitting a side car to K1100LT - full fairing

Post by malmac »

My son has a K100 that had a side car fitted. It was getting a bit tired so he picked up a K1100LT.

Because he rides the outfit every day he wanted to keep the full fairing for weather protection.

We did some creative problem solving and he now has the bike on the road with full fairing.

Yes he is looking at a leading link, but the outfit runs quite well even with the standard forks.

I had a 93 K1100LT With ABS. ABS didnt work when I bought & didnt work when I sold it. It always stopped even with tape over the dash light. Great bike, kept mine for 4-5 yrs. Till I got a 2003 K1200 GT.

I have never owned a K bike, always been a boxer fan. I rode his bike before the chair was fitted, lovely strong linear power delivery.
The ABS was working.
So all in all I think it is a good bike to pull a side car.
