Early 74 R90S had one pinch bolt according to the Ian Falloon book.

Hi
As the 1974 model dose not have the pinch bolt style fork leg on the LH side.
What stops the axle nut from coming loose?
Parts pic seem to show just a flat washer.

Not a great amount of length left on the axle if I start putting spring washers under the nut.

Suggestions please?
Maybe a spring washer and a half nut?
Loctite ?

Thanks
Richard

You shouldn't need a wave or lock washer. Just torque it spec (not sure what that is) BEFORE you tighten the axle pinch bolt on the other fork leg. The nut tightens the axle against the fork leg and all of the axle spacers and inner bearing races. Don't recall one ever coming loose in a few 100k miles of riding. Same as the axle nut on the rear and all other (postwar?) BMW axles before it. A drop of blue locktite won't hurt.

Hope that helps.
