What to do with engine/frame numbers

Hi
Long story.
I have a 1974 R90S that has been in bits since early 90's
Have decided that I am never going to find time to restore it so I am just cleaning and rebuilding as is.
Then will sell as is.

What can I do to the engine and frame numbers so they are a bit more readable?
Don't want to start sanding off paint and making the numbers even harder to read.
Or should I just leave alone.

I read it as 4072461 making it a 01/74 build.

Thanks
Richard

I would leave them alone, otherwise someone might suspect they have been monkeyed with.

Clean with a toothbrush and WD40? Then you'll need to do that to the rest of the bike.

Hi
Thanks for the suggestions.
I agree that they are best left as is so no one thinks they have been
mucked around with.
Thanks
Richard

scrape the paint out of the #'s on the frame with an ice pick type tool before you paint.
