Well the mongrel is finished except for replacement of some of the original frame stickers. This project came out really well and I love riding it. Being a sucker for pain I am now looking for a second airhead for restoration.

Leave tomorrow morning to pick up my next airhead project, a 1983 R100RT. This one is at least all together and not like the mongrel built up out of parts from various year airheads. Over 1000 miles each way so I hope this one is everything the current owner claims.

Correction the new air head project is a 1983 R100RS not a RT.

the 83 R100RS I bought in New Hampshire is a beautiful bike. Very nice restoration that needs nothing. Same owner also has a 1977 R1000S I looked at when I picked up the RS. Have decided to buy that one as well. Buying three old air heads within 7 months and never having owned one may seem somewhat excessive to some . Being 79 1/2 years old and in reasonably good shape has something to do with it. I figure my fuse is getting pretty short so I might as well spend my money on something I enjoy.

Lol, my wife and I agree we are not leaving any of our money to anyone, we are spending it now. Not that we have a lot. You have a blend of airheads and each has it's own characteristics.

I have a RT and an RS, have thought about a S or naked bike for the real hot days of summer, but don't know where I would put it. St.

Have been putting some miles on the R90S and I have a problem I will have to address probably the end of this riding season. I want to send the instrument pod off to a specialist for as complete restoration as possible. I want to get the gauge glasses replaced as well as the gauges calibrated. The white lettering on the gauge pod is faded and I want this lettering restored. Can anyone recommend a specialty shop that can restore these to as new as possible??
