Advice for selling my '74 SS?

Post by sonicbloat »

Hi, all.

Sadly, I need to sell my April '74 SS R90S. But we need another 4-wheeled vehicle and some new windows for the house. Whattyagonnado.

I am in Central NY state, and have listed on the BMW MOA forum and local Craigslist, and have submitted to BaT. But I'd really love to sell to someone who really will appreciate it! Would love to get back the $10K I spent on it back in 2013.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

I'm going to move this to the Members Only section as that is where buy/sell offers are made to other members. I will leave the post up for a little bit before I make the move.

Good luck on the sale.

After thinking about things, since you're a paid-up member, you should be able to post where you want. So, I'll just leave things be for now!! :)

Sorry to say, you have done about all there is to sell your bike.

Listing in the MOA and here in Vintage as well as Craig's list perhaps, Cycle Trader and the Internet BMW Rider's market place are the only places I would list a bike.

Talking with friends at my local airhead shop, it is becoming clear the market for airheads as well as motorcycles in general is getting very soft.

There are great debates on all sources of the airhead community as to the causes of this happening, I won't go into it.

All I can say is be realistic with your price, honest with your description of the bike, and it will sell. St.
