Realizing that you may be using the sale of the current bodywork to finance the purchase of the DO set, I'd still recommend carefully prepping the tank for long-term storage, and then packing the original body bits up and putting them away someplace cool, dry, and dark. That stuff, particularly the tank, will likely only go up in value with time. And, you're only an unfortunate moment away from needing one or more of those bits yourself. Squirrel away some money over time, and send them off to Holt or someone similar (someone who can really replicate an OE silver smoke paint scheme, not just a black/silver fade). Then you'll be ready, with only a couple of hours of switchy-switchy work, when the moment arrives that you want to throttle back from your present "loud paint saves lives" preference--but I really like DO paint, too.
I like the Orange better myself. But why didnt you just strip down the old parts and paint them Orange? Must be a reason?

truth be told ......
I found a set of bodywork right out of the paint shop for just a little more $$ plus .... I don't have to wait 6 months to a year to have it done myself. If I can recoup some of that cost up front and provide parts to others "here" its a win win situation. I can also use some of the cash for engine work. A new timing chain is going in this week.
I appreciate and understand your theory of hanging on to everything but I don't really have the room to store everything.
If I have a problem selling any of the parts I will certainly prepare them for storage. I may even start prepping them for paint down the road. Its going to be a long winter.
I’ve had several inquiries regarding parts and prices. Since I have not received my new bodywork yet everything is still mounted. I’m still riding the bike. When the parts come in I will let everyone know.
The new body work is in so the old set is officially for sale. If your interested in something just let me know. My email is ..... skychsva@aol.com

The tank is in very good shape. No real dents. Some good scratches but just into the paint. The inside is clean and is still lined in red. The will be "NO" petcocks and the BMW badges are NOT included unless you have a set you want to trade. Has to be the Porcelain. I am undecided if Im taking off the gas cap.
The fairing is ok but not great. Im just being honest. It has a couple hairline cracks and has been repaired in the past. All the hardware has been removed for reuse on the new bodywork. There is NO windshield.
The side covers are in very good shape. Even the decals look good.
The seat tray is in good shape. I will include the seat as well. If I take it apart Ill probably booger it up. There is a tennis ball size melt on the seat on the left side. Apparently the PO had a light there while he was working on the bike. There are no mounting brackets. They are going on my new seat unless a set comes with my new seat. There is no rack on the back of the seat.
NOTE: The BMW badges are coming off. They are porcelain and are going on the new bodywork. If you have a spare set you want to trade Ill consider leaving them on. I will not take off the R90S badge.
Id like to sell the bodywork as a set if I can. To help pay for the new bodywork I need to get somewhere between $1500 and $2K. Buyer is responsible for shipping. If Im way off (either direction) please speak up. Im open for suggestions.
Here is what Im replacing the parts with ...... Trust me it wasn't cheap.
