Yesterday I was educated on the value/demand of R90S body parts. Apparently my local advise was way off so Im back to square one.

Maybe this is a good place/time for more opinions. You will not hurt my feelings nor will I be offended. Id rather sell the parts here to local members than put everything on eBay.

There isnt a lot of people that need $1500+ worth of parts they will need to repair and repaint. You could post on IBMWR as a whole for a while. If not, piece them out on ebay or IBMWR. Now thats just my .02 worth. & MHO.

For most of the body parts, which are readily available from a lot of sources, you're probably right, Twocams. But the tank is where the money is. There aren't any repro flip-top 6.2 liter tanks available (I don't know why some low-volume metalsmith doesn't do this), and the originals are like hens' teeth. Flush-cap 6.2 tanks are on every post-'77 /7 bike made, but that substitution will deduct ___ points off your resto with any show judge worth a shop rag, and will have the 90S cognocenti sniffing around for other indications of poser-ism. Real flip-top 6.2 tanks are worth money ($1200++?, even if it needs a repaint) to those who are concerned about these things, when a decent flush-top 6.2 can be found for $350.

Complete R90S bodywork for sale - SOLD

Post by schrader7032 »

I'm in the process of buying a complete set of bodywork from a paint shop for my 1975 R90S. I'm being told it should be ready in the next 2-3 weeks. Once that happens I will be selling the bodywork from my R90S. All the bodywork is original. Its the grey/silver. All of it is in very good shape with patina to match its age. The bike is currently a rider. The BMW emblems will be removed from the seat and tank. I will need all of the mounting hardware to reinstall my new parts.

The parts will include ......

1. Fairing .... probably without the shield. No mounting hardware.
2. Front fender
3. Rear fender
4. Seat bench with or without seat
5. Tank ... very nice inside and out.
6. Both side covers.

Why am I selling it? Im switching to Daytona Orange.

I do not have prices for the parts yet. Im still new to this bike and will have to evaluate every part as it comes off the bike. Advice on pricing is appreciated. If your interested in buying all or part please contact me via email at skychsva@aol.com.
