I'd be a little suspicious of a set for $34. Vech sells a set of Hella barends for around $90. Vech would sell a quality product.

I agree that Hellas are the ones to get, but Vech's price is $90 per light, or $180 and change for a pair.

Wow! I sure wouldn't have thought his price would be that far out w.r.t. to other prices. He says they're "original" but they can't be NOS, can they?

i got a response back from the ebay dealer. and he states that the only reason his are so cheap is they are reproductions. and other than not being built in the 60's they are the same and just as reliable as the hellas. granted everything was built better back then but they seem lagit i think i will take the gamble. i will post after i get them to let you all know what i think. thanks for the imput.

I bought a pair about 6 months ago
I was also concered about the price
I am happy with the parts and would by them again
the nly thing I did was to change the bulbs from 12 volts to 6volts

I put a set after market ones

Post by 312Icarus »

I put a set after market ones on my /2.(Emglo) They cost about $25 the pair from a nmbr of vendes, including Amazon. They are well built, look right and (when the bulbs are replaced with 6vdc bulbs!) they work great. The bike never had turn signals. Installation was a piece of cake". I just put the blink unit (6 volt from Amazon) in the headlight bucket. beware that some 6vdc blinkers will blink too fast with only single bulbs. The Emglo blinker from Amazon blinks at the proper rate.

Except for a great eye for detail , you can't tell them from the originals, AND I feel much safer with blinkers.

PS the bulbs are "festoon bulbs". You can buy them by the each for several $$ or in a ten pack for under a buck @ at Amazon.
