Restoration

Post by VBMWMO »

I'm a new member, in the process of restoring my dad's 1965 R60/2 that he bought new in Europe. It was his ride in a tour conducted by Edison Dye. It was his first real motorcycle and he was 54 years old at the time.He was unable to ride after 1968, so the motorcycle has been sitting for 40 years. My brother convinced me while visiting Montana to rent a trailer and bring it back to Minnesota. I have 2 questions. #1 has to do with the "eyebolts" that secure the handlebars. Does anyone have a definitive method for the plating and rebending of these parts so that the plating isn't wrecked in the process? #2 has to with the tires. Does anyone know what originals were? I seem to remember that the front was ribbed, but have no knowledge of the rear. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you, steele7406
