Spline Shaft

I can think of a couple:

- rubber plug jammed in there

- expansion plug. These are sized so that when you tighten them down or flip the lever, the rubber part expands out to the ID of the hole. Something like this (I hope this works; I borrowed these from a post on the MOA forum.)

I'm sure there are more kludges that could be used...

Whatever you end up putting in there, use some kind of backup to keep it there, like duct tape, large hose clamp, or plastic zip tie. You don't want the temporary repair to come off while running down the road. There's essentially no pressure...it just gets little warm.

The only real fix is to remove and use a helicoil/timesert as you suggest. If it's the drive shaft, there's no real room to do the job on the bike as the tap will bottom out when it hits the shaft and not get through the parent material.

Bottom plug for draining oil from drive shaft is stripped out. Any suggestion on how to make plug oil tight without removing hub or installing helicoil?
