/2 front brake

Post by mcsherry1328 »

Looking at a /2 conversion online with a newer and larger front brake, it reminded of wanting to ask what you recommend for a larger front brake brake for sidecar use. I see disc brake conversions but am more interested in a large diameter drum brake like Munch style. Years ago I saw a large Suzuki brake that looked good. Wanted to see what options may be available. Thanks, Michael

On my conversion I used the /2 front brake with /5 brake shoes. It works quite well.

While the /5 shoes are narrower than the /2 shoes the compound stops much better. With a brake on the sidecar I never felt underbraked and it looked stock.

Did you ever come up with a front brake for your conversion?
I don't care for the disc brake look 'but like the big diameter drum look.
