Stuck pivot pin

Hi all,

I've got a stuck pivot pin, which is holding up removal of the swingarm on my 68 R50US.

Any tips? I've been bathing as much of the pin as possible with PB Blaster, and removed the opposing pivot pin and sprayed PB Blaster into the hole, hoping it might free up the other. Not working.

Any tips? I'm new to this; and suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong would be most appreciated.

Cheers
Tom

Sure does ... I'm thinking in threads inside are rusty (bike very rough).

In fact, I broke a pin off the Heyco pin wrench trying to get the pin loose. $25 mistake!

Oh, that wrench is under warranty.....Not. Rust or someone stripped or crossed the threads and just left it. Heat works wonders if you have even just a good heat gun, but torch works better. if you can get a small pipe wrench on the threads of the pin. Maybe tighten a little then loosen. No the pin wont be much good when done. Or just break another pin I guess, on your tool. Look here under tool/tips where the heading is "Kinda interesting". Seems that ATF & Acetone mixed is a good rust cutter. I got that from the Oregon Vintage Bike forums. Maybe it will help.
