Enduro lights

Ok
I bought my enduro bags 3 years ago and was happy to pay $450.00
The bulb socket was changed to fit a 2 filament bulb
I thought this was the original configuration but now realize the original socket was only for a single filament bulb
Not sure where the 2 filament socket was found but I would make a socket for the dual function as I think the single design was only used for running lights and I would fell better if one had some extra brake lights in the rears and also directional lights
Again I will be adding another led for my running lights this winter
PS
After I now must refinish my enduro bags like you did so well

Almost done with the bags. I had to remove, de-rust, paint and re-rivit the latches and lids. They actually came out very nice. I really like the Flex Seal rubber coating on the inside. It covers all the fiberglass patches and IMHO adds to the structure of the bag. The only problem I have now are the mounts. The left bag fits nice but the right bag rubs the shock. Im afraid if I leave it it will just rub a hole in the bag. If I can't get that figured out there is a guy out in Calif who sells an aftermarket set that is smaller, lighter and stronger. Time will tell. Oh, obviously I couldn't save the pin striping. When I get the bike painted I will get them to add the stripes to the bags.

The restoration/reproduction

The restoration/reproduction ones look so, so much better and the hardware is so much better.
But... they are not original. You did very well, in fact incredibly well for $500.
That pin striping is not original anyway so I wouldn't worry about it.

I just took my enduro bags off my bike for the Winter and was thinking about selling them. Perhaps going with some nice black or brown leather bags. Like the old German Postal or Police type. But then I realize I will never find a set/pair like what I have again, ever.

Couple pix with and without the bags. Unrestored runner:

Mike
Are your pin strips original?
Mine are not
Yours don't seem so but I may be wrong
Does anyone have a good pic with the original pin strips?

Thanks for your response. I appreciate your input and its always great to see other set ups. Those pin stripes look original to me. Im not sure what Im going to do about mine.

Today I took the bike out for a nice ride. I went back to see the guy who sold me the bags. He was very happy and sad at the same time. I think Im going to like the look. Im very happy. Photos from today.

The only thing I regret is painting the latches. In this case however all the chrome was gone and they were full of rust.

You did a really nice job on

You did a really nice job on them and they look darn good without the striping. I believe my stripes are original but who really knows. It's all period aftermarket anyway. I need to change the 2 dzuz hardware thingy's that go to the bottom holder at some point. I just use a bolt and nut on it now and it's unseen... probably safer than the original set-up.

So you know there is a guy in CT. that sells a copy of the generic key that works with these old locks. Not a bad idea to do when motoring down the bumpy roads. He advertises on eBay every once and awhile. The key was $25.00 (ouch). But it does work.

Those bags look fantastic!

Nothing beats the look of the Enduros, with or without the stripes. I agree about the latches, but if you're patient, new ones with keys will show up on eBay, or you may find something even better that looks just as good.

Is this the guy and key you are talking about?

Also, I just found these on eBay. A little different than mine but for the price it may work. They clean up well.
