Throtle-slide needle reposition = more speed?

Hello all,
Running 1/24/159 & 1/24/160 carbs, the needle position is in the 3rd groove, according to Bing's specs.
My question is, if I reposition the needle in the last 4th slot - what effect will that have? Will I get more speed? Will it do damage/overheat or something like that? Thanks!

Re: How does the VAPE electronic ignition work?

Hi, I think you will find all the info and more, over here: https://www.powerdynamo.biz/eng/systems/lists/overview.php I run such a system (charging & ignition) on my R51/3 and I am very pleased with it. Never have starting problems, always first kick starter, hot or cold. If I'm not mistaken, o...

Re: Carb slide top nut loose

The fine thread on the body of the carb is delicate and one only mount that cover when it is completely straight to the carbs body, or it may cause the threads to stirp. The alloy from which the body is made will not win the first prize either. I suggest that you carefully check, with a flashlight a...

engine valve compressor?

Hello,
What generic compressor tool are you using? And where do you buy it?
I know that not everyone out there will fit our heads with the valves hanging at an angle.
Nylon staffed sockets does not work for me, either.
Thanks.

Warning to engine rebuilders/overhauls-Important Info about Valve Guides

I hope this information will help all people in the future. I learned this the hard way, it turns out others did too https://vintagebmw.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=18309 . When I brought my engine heads to the workshop, with all the assemblies shiny new (valves, springs, guides, etc.), I didn'...

Reaming data for valve guides?

Where can I find the factory instructions for this data? I would like to get my hands on such a chart regarding tolerances of reaming new guides for a bike that lives in a warm climate. Is this information available at all, or does a workshop perform the reaming according to some personal knowledge?...
