Re: R60 oddball kickstart problem

I have the same issue on an R50/2 and I’be kind of learned to live with it. I find that if I don’t let the kickstart lever return all the way, it works better but you don’t get a full stroke. Will be interested in hearing the solution.

Re: cylinder head compatibility?

I hope that they are compatible because I just bought an R60 head for an R50. As previously stated, same part number.

Re: Steib S501 suspension questions

At the risk of being “outed” by the forum, I too come from a Harley background. Still have multiple flatside Shovelheads and a ‘48 FL. A ‘63 R50/2 found me several years ago and I have since enjoyed riding and wrenching on her. FL54 is my handle on other forums as well. ‘54 is my birth year so I hav...

Re: Steib S501 suspension questions

Try a sack of tube sand in the tub while riding solo.

Re: Chang Jiang CJ750

Would have made good yard art but it sold for $1000 plus shipping with a sidecar from Florida. Not feeling it. I make it a point to avoid buying anything Chinese in the first place.

Chang Jiang CJ750

A buddy of mine sent this EBay link to me for a project. I had never heard of this bike but obviously, it’s a BMW clone. Anyone know anything about it? Just curious.

EBay number. 265499967357

Re: R51/3 - side stand?

I have also seen about a 3/4” hockey puck shaped piece of steel welded to the foot of the side stand. Like a guy’s shoe whose one leg is shorter than the other. Doesn’t look bad and keeps the bike more upright.

Re: R51/3 - side stand?

When I got my R50/2 a few years back, it didn’t have a side stand and the bolt was broken off in the frame. After many choice words I got the broken bolt out and replaced the side stand. After all that, I rarely use it. The bike leans over too far and the engine races when on the side stand. The onl...
