The devil's in the details

The devil's in the details you generally take for granted. As I understand it, vapor lock requires pretty high heat and I doubt that's likely in this situation. What type petcock are you using? I'd be inclined to disassemble, clean, and take a high pressure air chuck to all the ports. I wouldn't rei...

Looks like you were running

Looks like you were running your rear springs for a pillion last year. Have a passenger or just like the stiffer ride?

Never been to Daytona but it sounds like fun. Hope you guys have a blast. You better let us live vicariously through you with some great pics of your K75 cruising Daytona!

Cheers!

A different time and place

Face it, they were designed primarily for a different time & place.

A place where elegant sure-footed cruising was king and time was valued in miles.

Adjust the play.

I have no slack in the cable and if I pull the clutch in it will disengage, you can feel it in the kick start lever. There should be about 5mm play at the lever. This adjustment is made on the rear of the transmission behind your kickstart lever. I assume your barrel adjuster is buried at the perch...

Stagewex, Your bikes both

Stagewex, Your bikes both look beautiful, although I'm partial to the R60US. The flying bricks have always interested me.. As someone who seems to enjoy the ride of the US front end, have you ridden an Earles machine? I haven't had the opportunity to ride a US bike and have heard unfavorable reviews...

I appreciate all the input

I appreciate all the input fellas. The 69 sounds like a safer bet. This forum has been a great resource. While the S model has higher horse power, the longevity of the lower compression 69 is interesting. That said, they seem increasingly difficult to find in original condition. It seems that origin...

I had the heads off my '64

I had the heads off my '64 R60/2 sent out to Randy Long a few years back to be rebuilt before ever hearing the term butterhead. He didn't get real specific but I recall him mentioning that my heads looked great before he even set to work on them. They had 35k on them at the time and had never been r...

/2 Years to Avoid

I happen to be in the market for a nice /2 and there are quite a few currently up for sale. I seem to recall a thread many months ago providing some information on the subtle variations from year to year. I'm hoping someone can either link that thread or reiterate some of the points. I remember that...

There's never anything interesting like this on fleabay or ibmwr, so how do you get a seat at the big boy table?

Hahaha... Thanks for the chuckle.
