BW 38 sidecar frame firing issues?

I recently bought a BW 38 chassis to bolt to my R12 but I'm having issues with the position of the front ball socket and the ball on my R12 frame in that the head hits the chassis? See photo. Is my front ball wrong or have I spent a lot of money thinking that a BW 38 sidecar and chassis fit R12's? R...

R11 in Vortex?

Strange subject title I know, but here in the UK I recently watched a US TV Show 'Man v Food' and a restaurant in Atlanta seemd to have an R11 hanging from the ceiling?

Anyone made an offer on it yet?

Sum

Hi Frode,

There is an original Sum on eBay.de at the moment. A number of suppliers have new manufacture Sum carbs and air filters, RRC tuning, Oldtimergarage etc.

Is the magneto putting out a good spark?

R51

Hi Mike,

That's correct. R51 June 1939, no down tube under seat (ref R66 thread). Pre war UK AFN Ltd. import, full history. Needs original AF carbs (very expensive!) and mph speedo (unobtainable).

Any update on the battery boxes?

Regards,

John

Floats

Thanks Mike,

Believe it or not I met a guy who lives 15 min from me who had a draw full of Bing parts, and a lock up full of 1960's BMW parts including a R750.

R51/1 Bing Float source

I'm pleased to say I've added an R51/1 to the garage. Of the very few things I need for it are an original speedo and new floats for the carbs.

Can anyone confirm float weights and a supplier?

R4

Chris, Post some photos if you can, the better the detail, the more can be identified. I am sure others will chip in, but as a relative new comer to R12's, I've found its always difficult to value bikes such as these and know what you're really buying. Originality is always a value factor - that is ...

You did indeed Mike,

Thanks Mike, I'm on the look out for an original chassis now to fit onto my r12.
