I will fix it if needed

I am the distributor for Powerdynamo in the USA and have been for 13 years...I have lots of parts and experience...it should start on the first or at least the second kick....easily...and indeed something is wrong if you have to tighten the gap.... I live in Chester Calif, and it will take most of a...

Blew er Up...Big Time

Yesterday while riding to Redding (aqbout 90 miles each way) my R69S dropped a valve (I think) it went thru the piston and I don't know how so tiny an exhaust could put some much smoke out...I looked back and all I could see was smoke...wow..or ooops.. I had to push it about a quarter of a mile to t...

Problem setting the timing

I have just become aware of a possible problem.....might your bike have an aluminum flywheel ? It seems that the system will not work properly on a bike with an aluminum flywheel....I have no idea why...but two professional guys that I totally trust have had the same problem....and the only common t...

Engine Stand Blems

I have about 5 engine stands that are cut for the early bikes...... /2 and earlier.... they were welded before they were drilled for the engine pattern....so if you don't mind marking them and drilling the bolt pattern yourself I will sell them to you a a discount. I can not mount them now on the Mi...

another thought

One of the tricks to make the bike start easily, is to make sure the throttle slides are all the way donw while you are cranking... it's easy to check, just remove the air tubes and check to see where the slides are in the bores,,,often I find someone has set up the idle on one side so the slides do...

One simple thought

It is not at all uncommon for the float bowls to flood the bike while sitting... might check to make sure the levels are not too high...also I make it a habit of turning off my fuel valves every time I get off the bike...sure helps.

just my thoughts.

Not a problem at all

Use the higher output /6 alternator on your /5 or whatever...that is 260 watts... and a good strong battery...with good grounds.. THEN use LED bulbs if you are worried about drain...the LED bulbs draw almost nothing....I saw some made in Sacramento at a bike rally that were super, super bright...wow...

Easy Upgrade

Yes you can easily upgrade that old system by just replacing the alternator that is on the bike with an alternator from a /6 bike...I am not terribly sure what the /5 does for output but the later /6 alternator puts out something like 260 watts...plenty unless you plan on having some sort of light d...

Dover White

i have always liked the dover white bikes but they always looked worn....kinda dirty around the edges... I guess it just shows so much more than black bikes.... around the bottom of the shock towers and places where oil collect seem to stain the white... maybe I am just imagining...but I am not sure...

How about telling us where you live ?

I don't know about the other guys, but I sure am always available for someone local that needs help...I enjoy working on others bikes...and always learn something...no matter how simple... plus I am really good at electrical. If we knew where folks lived it might be kinda nice... we could help one w...
