There is also a /2 conversion group on Yahoo...if it still exists... it would be a good idea to see if there is anyone near where you live to walk you thru a conversion..(buy em lunch) .. there is a lot...

It's not all that hard, but have a plan

Years ago, BMW "ON" magazine did a 3 part series on building a conversion... (I actually know where that bike is) and it covered the construction fairly well.... If you have a pre-64 (if I remember correctly ) you will want to have a welder install a brace just aft of the engine area where...

What does a new damper feel like ?

I pulled my old Damper off my R69S and it has resistance both directions....50/50 ....but not a lot of resistance... I have never felt a new damper... what my damper felt like was "greasy friction" like if you put STP on a polished rod and then pulled it between your fingers... I have pull...

I just tried to order one

No problem ordering one.....but that was until I got to check out.... they have one price for shipping to USA....33 euros....wow! That seems a bit harsh.... it makes a great deal for someone ordering a large quantity of heavy items....but the poor guy (me) that only needs one item gets hosed.... Has...

Uli's now has steering dampers for R69S and new crankshaft assemblys

I was just looking at Uli's cover page on their website http://www.ulismotorradladen.de/uli/web/shop/Homepage.aspx and was just amazed to find new R69S steering dampers for just over 100 euro and new crankshaft assemblys for 1000 euro. I am just thrilled....I really would like to have a new damper. ...

No need to turn-around... hammer on !

With the Powerdynamo the charging system is seperate from the ignition.... the folks at the factory tell me that the system will run fine without a battery.....but I don't like that idea...not only is it against the law but it's the battery voltage that controls the rate of charge to the battery... ...

That is more reason to use that Silicone Grease

That is just the reaction I would expect if you had corrosion (very, very light) in one of the connections... the system runs on a tiny amount of current...tiny.. and it does not take much between terminals to cause problems... that Dielectric Silicone (tune-up grease) will stop all that..... phanto...

Improved R25-R26 System

This is the Powerdynamo page for the improved systems for the singles..... well done. (I think). I would put one on my bike if I owned a R26...(not a R27) but for the earlier singles this is a first-class option. http://www.powerdynamo.biz/eng/systems/7383/7383main.htm Joel Powerdynamo Importer Ches...

Motorrad Stemler is first class

I have been there, and it is a quality operation....first class stuff... and nice folks,...plus they put out a really fine catalog.. If they specialize in R25 overhaul I bet it is quality stuff... everything they do is beautiful. I sure would not hesitate to buy anything from Stemler... Joel Chester...
