Re: Current Values are DOWN!

Could the lower prices be due to more bikes coming up for auction or sale now that older owners or their families are selling? I don't see many guys under the age of 60 at my friend's airhead shop and sadly each spring brings drop outs who are selling out, thinning out or just died. Since I don't go...

Not quite sure if this will help, it is a quick diagram of the wires on the back of the ignition switch I made. St,

Re: Fiamm horn/relay question.

So FYI, here is the stock wiring for your one horn bike and for comparison a two horn bike.
As you can see in the two horn system there are two complete circuits, one for switching and one for power. St.

Re: Fiamm horn/relay question.

So, I got my lazy butt out to the shop and looked up your bike. According to the wiring diagram, you had one horn for the bike. There was NO relay in the system. Power was a green black wire. The horn was switched or operated by grounding it out via the horn button. This was the brown with white str...

Re: Fiamm horn/relay question.

As Kurt writes, I believe (and sorry I haven't looked at a wiring diagram yet) he covers the pins and connections in the headlight shell and stock harness. Stock horns on BMW bikes don't draw a lot of current, in most of the single horn bikes there is not even a relay installed. To be honest I haven...

Re: Gremlins in the electrics...

Two things come to mind, first is recheck the wire connector position on the back of the ignition switch. I found one time after an overhaul on my RT that it can be connected wrong and the bike will start and run with the headlight relay bypassed. This means the headlight is always on even when cran...

Re: Fabulous R90S For Sale, see Bring a Trailer

Okay, the silver bike has a few issues, still it is reasonable priced not astronomical. Sorry no R90S is worth $60K unless it is the first bike off the assembly line in original low mile condition. Or perhaps only one of 1000 made. I am sorry, BAT auctions just reenforce my thinking that some people...

Re: Fabulous R90S For Sale, see Bring a Trailer

I don't get it, a "restored" bike, sells for $60,000 while a original low mile bike has been on the market for about a month listed for $14K. No disrespect to Mark, he did a beautiful job and the bike is worth something but???? St. https://www.cycletrader.com/listing/1976-BMW-R+90+S-503020...

Re: R65 LS black exhaust coating?

Jeff, I am sorry no one has answered you. I would suggest checking with any of the local hot rod shops near you to see if they have blacked out a system and what they used. LOL, I cannot remember exactly what was used by BMW. Also I think there is a R65 forum floating around on the web, maybe a sear...
