Ahh, left me tell ya. I already had a ton of salt from trailering only on the left side of the bike from melting snow up here. Looked terrible and broke my heart to see her like that. But parking her in the open down in Florida was much worse with the sea salt and humidity in the Florida air. My bik...

A /2 at Daytona Bike Week

Having had it up to my ears with our northeast snow and cold this Winter I hatched a plan a couple weeks ago to head south for at least some of Daytona Bike Week. Got the Green Light from my wife and even though I had to work half the week it was more about riding and warm Sun. I’ve done Bike Week t...

Nice Bike

You'll love the Power Dynamo. My install by previous owner. I have the regular 4.5 tank (is that the "sports" tank?). Plenty of room.

Me Too

Seems I do similar as you Mark as to cleaning out the tank from time-to-time. And it doesn't have to be on an older bike/tank like my /2. On the '99 Harley and '05 KLR I recently sold it was an annual exercise though not always planned. Perhaps running a new set of wiring or something else related t...

Yes, I have the smaller or regular stock tank if the 4.5 gallon is considered the "Sport Tank". Tool box on the side, not on top. Last October when I first bought the bike I ran a full tank down to empty and could see some very small debris in the fuel filters which lead to finding some in...

cloth covered fuel line

I looked over the metal disconnects on your ebay link and think they would be better than the ones supplied by S. Meyer's Ebay link http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-R-K-Series-5-16-In-Line-Fuel-Quick-Disconnec...They would work on our low pressure fuel tank hoses. Mark Thanks, I'll check those out.But al...

OTC clamps

I have a set of the OTC 4506 clamps somewhere, they are junk. Never could get them tight enough to stop leaking. The other pliers type look like they would work real well.
Rich

Thanks for letting me know as I was kinda leaning in that direction.

Thank-You Dr. Darryl for the hemostat idea. Good "KISS" ( Keep It Simple Stupid ) idea. I guess I’ll get one of these to add to my tool chest for the next time I pull the tank: http://www.amazon.com/OTC-4506-Fuel-Line-Clamp/dp/B002YKHRUK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1425479157&sr=8-3&...

I have had a plastic one on a bike before after a frustrating gas tank removal. Funny thing is that after installing it I didn't take the tank off for years. Because of that the disconnect was very had to do just that... disconnect. It had sort of fused together. After finally getting it apart is le...
