Re: Rear swing arm question..

Thanks Vech!
Would you advise to back the rear swing arm pins out a bit, grease them with a grease gun and then retighten?
Or just get the pins set correctly and grease?

Rear swing arm question..

Hey Gang, I recently purchased a R60 that’s been sitting for nearly 30 years. I love projects! I noticed the rear swing arm has a little bit of side to side movement. I was able to tighten up the rear trunion pins so that they are even and that took out the looseness. My questions are this.. Should ...

Re: Ulis electronic ignition conversion

I did confirm the TDC using a TDC tool and it matched up perfect with the OT mark on flywheel.
I also tried the Duane Ausherman technique of tapping the mag rotor in the opposite direction of widest opening of points.. no luck.

Re: Ulis electronic ignition conversion

So far with static timing, it’s bad… one side is on the “S” line perfect.. rotate it 360 and the other side is just below the “OT” line.. ouch.

Re: Ulis electronic ignition conversion

Hey, I did send an email and that got back to me.. it does retain the 6 volts. I like this one for the simple install. I “think” I’m going to need it due to my camshaft having .003 run out.. which ends up being around .006 after the mag rotor and advancer unit is installed. Still working on other th...

Re: Safety spark gap

Rather than bend the tabs, just relieve (cut back) the plug wire insulation a bit more and bring the wire core down to the appropriate gap, i.e. make the wires stick out a bit farther so they are closer to the tabs. Don't mess with the tabs. Agree 100% I’ve “heard” of people breaking the tabs off.....

Ulis electronic ignition conversion

Hey All, Questions about the Ulis electronic ignition.. this one.. https://www.ulismotorradladen.de/article-details/Kontaktlose-Zuendanlage-EZA-41-R513-R69S-NICHT-R68--R691.aspx I’m not seeing if you retain your original 6 volts? Do you keep the existing “No resistance” plug wires? I’m assuming you ...

Re: Max run out on end of crank/rotor?

Thanks James!
That’s exactly what I was looking for.
It looks like max allowable out of round on camshaft nose is 0.02mm ( .0008”)
And max allowable on on magneto cone is the same.

Cheers!
