Thanks Kurt

Seems to be used as a "clutch switch" on other models as you rightly indicated and probably the reason I couldn't find it... will give it a go.

Hi Tony

Tony I think the term Africa is a bit broad... Chances are 99% that the bike was imported to South-Africa and delivered to Club Garage, who was the sole importer at the time. This can be confirmed by mailing the BMW archives. The government had the money and was off-course looking for the best machi...

Thin metal it is

Thanks for the comments. I will go with the thin metal.

The tank and fenders paint has been redone so its not a 100% original bike. If this wasn't done, I would have kept the old roundels in place.

The yellow badges just doesn't look good no matter how you look at it....

Suppliers offer a stick-on enamel or aluminum version. What would be closest to the original?

The current faded ones (not sure if it is original) seems to be flat aluminum.

Thanks for the confirmation Glen

I had another look - those wires are SO neatly tucked away there is no way it will be the same again after I loosened it. Almost like opening some goods in a box and then trying to get it all back as before it was opened. It is also intertwined with other wires in the shell. The grommet holding the ...

1976 R60/6 - Above or below

Would appreciate if someone can confirm whether the main electrical wire/harness from the headlamp should pass below the fork brace or above the brace as in this picture. I only found this out only once half of the harness and two wires were cut through. I would think below as there is no way it can...

I have a 1976 R60/6 with original seat.

Roundel only white. Mine is very faded though.
