3.5 on rear

I have two R27’s and both came to me with 3.25x18 on the front and 3.5x18 on the rear. They still are wearing these tires and they do not rub. You do need to pull them out through the swing arm quite rough and taking the air out of the tire helps. I left them on and they are fine.

Other damage?

My worry would be what other damage is there from falling off the trailer? How badly is the valve cover on that side damaged? Did it crack the crankcase? I would think there is a big possibility that the Earls forks are bent and other items that you could not see. Because of this and all the possibl...

R69S exhaust questions

When my R69S came to me the exhaust was off the motorcycle and I have a couple questions as I put the new exhaust on. 1) Are the clamps that hold the header pipes (the ones that mount to the rear engine mount bolt) have mounts in the middle or are they offset? The two I was sent are offset and it lo...

Both 1967

Dave,

The motorcycle is a 1967 and the parts book has a date of 1967. I would have thought cad as well but it was interesting to see "pho. black" in the parts book. Any help is appreciated!

Question on bolt finish

I am putting a solo seat on my 1967 R69S and have a question on the bolt finish. The 1967 parts book says the main bolt and the smaller m6 bolts are all pho. black while the Barrington manual says they are cad plated. I have both available and was wondering if anyone here can help give some guidance...

Side car electric outlet

Hello all, I am restoring my R69S and am about ready to paint the side car outlet cover. When I cleaned the outlet itself it turned out it was brass and shined up very nicely. When new were these outlets painted or just left in the natural brass and then left to get oxidized? I am trying to be as tr...

update on the misfire!

So, the following is what I have done and the misfire is all gone. I have a small flat spot at around 2,000 rpm but I will work on that later. Following is what I did and what I think it was! 1) I changed the plugs. It did NOT fix the problem. 2) I cleaned the carbs. It did NOT fix the problem. 3) C...
