Re: /2 type 120 carb difficulties

I think we've had a tech article in the Classic Motorräder about fixing a situation where the nub has been broken off.

Re: 81 R100RS

Check the connection underneath the transmission. Be sure the push-on connection is clean and tight.

Re: R60/2 Ugly Battery

I spray painted a 6v battery for my R25/2 a while back. I put some tape across the area showing the min/max lines. Then I applied some sand paper to the battery sides, then painted. I don't remember what I use to paint with.

Re: Type of carburators for BMW R51/2

The slide is a critical element to the functioning of a carb. Slides have different shapes and ports on them. So, mixing and matching jets should take into account the basic similarity of the slides.

Re: Type of carburators for BMW R51/2

The Bing manual only shows the 1/22/39 and /40 carbs for the R51/2. Suggests main jet of 90. The 61/62 are for the R51/3.

Re: R26 lubrication

I'm not totally familiar with your situation. I have feed holes on my R25/2 but it's been so long. Any chance that the engine parts are not original to each other? Hard to believe though...

Re: R26 lubrication

The Motorräder Vol/Iss 42/4 has an article by Chris Betjemann on the oil circulation for the R26/R27 engines. A general description and visuals it seems.

Re: R90 s máster cylinder. Painted?

Here's pictures by Brook Reams on a /6 master cylinder rebuild. It doesn't look like raw metal, but it doesn't look fancy painted either. In the end, https://brook.reams.me/bmw-motorcycle-rebuilds/1975-r756-build-s-replica/34-bmw-r756-rebuild-master-cylinder-disk-caliper/ However, a little farther d...

Re: R51/3 center stand refurbishment

I always thought the issue with the pre 1970 center stands was that they would eventually go far over center. From my R69S, the rear tire is about a couple of inches off the ground. If both tires are essentially touching the ground, then the stand is probably going too far past center. There's a sto...
