Tires - R11

What are you guys using for tires? Spec size and make. I like the knobby tred look a bit more. If you have any links to places in the states that's a big help. Thanks

Thanks for the replies, guys.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I appreciate all the input so far. Half the problem is finding a shop that will handle it all, but I've finally narrowed one down. I'm Definitely interested in putting in the guides and seats even though they're not originally part of the assembly. Jeff, thanks for ment...

R11/R62 Valve job

Does anyone have any info on doing a valve job for an R11/R62 engine? I have to get the cylinders worked on and want to possibly put valve sleeves, seals, and replaceable seats in it. Anyone done that? If not, does anyone know what the tolerances on the valve stems should be? Also, does anyone have ...

I'll machine if someone draws it

You know that bronze or brass dustcap that covers the rear wheel's axle nuts on all those R11's and R16's? The one that has bump-out with a hole though it for inserting a tommy bar? Yea, that one. Mine just rattled itself off while driving and dissappeared into the streets of San Francisco. No amoun...

I've been busy buying a home, so got a bit side tracked.

At some point someone extended the crank out the front. probably to run a generator or something. That's my assumption. I have no idea why the exhaust has the spigots.

Ok. great info to know. Thanks guys. Ian, here's a pic of the engine numbers I think you're referring to. Basically looks like this on both halves: 1 75 Let me know if that means anything to you. BTW, have you guys heard anything of these: http://www.powerdynamo.biz/eng/systems/7195/719520main.htm I...

Correct Magneto for R11?

I'm having a hard time discerning if the magneto I have with my engine will work. It doesn't seem to be the correct one according to whatever specs are online for an R11 S5 (Bosch B 245 RS or magneto generator D 2 BRS 167) or R62. The other problem is I'm not exactly sure which series engine I have....

Fender rack - R11

Anyone know what the rear fender rack is made of? Is it cast steel or cast iron? I'm getting mixed signals based on my research and tests but am leaning towards cast iron. I have a bunch of cracks in mine. Also, if anyone can post some pictures of the rear tab, that would be useful. The rack I have ...
