Re: Pertinax Terminal Board

A small steel tinners rivet or even a modified nail of the proper size would work. Not all aluminum rivets are created equal. Some of the ones used in the aircraft industry are quite strong. I have thousands of rivets in all sorts of different sizes, materials and configurations.

Re: Pertinax Terminal Board

I would remove the end screw and drill a hole in through the center of it. Insert an aluminum rivet down through the center of it and through the board Put a washer over the rivet and rivet it to the board. Use a piece of round stock inserted down through the center hole to support the head of the r...

Re: Beware Of EnDuraLast Cables For R75/6

I had a small problem with an order from them and they were very responsive and sent the correct item out FedEx second day. In regard to the aftermarket parts supplied for the antique motorcycle market they are rarely exactly like the original parts. And when they are you will surely be paying a pre...

Re: Cleaning the engine, transmission and final drive

It sounds to me that you have covered your bases well when cleaning the cases. I think that you have went well beyond what a lot of guys would do. Sounds like something I would do error on the side of caution. I thought using the rubber gasket was a great idea too. The guys that I mentioned never ev...

Re: Cleaning the engine, transmission and final drive

Your cases look fine but............. I know of at least two guys that tried to seal the cases really well and they both had to take the motor apart because of abrasive material that got into the motor. I have two blast cabinets with different abrasive material in them. I would not blast any unit th...

Re: New VBMWMO Store Manager

For a new product I would like to see quality self adhesive enameled medallion of the Vintage BMW Owners Club logo. It should be available in 60 mm and maybe 70mm. And only be sold through the club store. I think that it would sell well. And I would be interested in a vintage calendar if it was prin...

Re: 1974 BMW R90S - Silver Smoke - Is it authentic?

The front fender looks too long in the section behind the forks. Maybe from a R90 or R75. Just my opinion when I first looked at it.

Early 74 R90S had one pinch bolt according to the Ian Falloon book.

Re: 1958 R69 correct tail light

I used to have a 58 R60 and seem to remember that the tail light or lens was slightly different than the later coffee can style tail light. Maybe someone else clarify that.
