Re: Fiamm horn/relay question.

This is a diagram from the BMW Electrical CD. I'm showing the twin horn schematic for the R100/7...my /7 came to ne with the Fiamm horns installed.

Re: Fiamm horn/relay question.

Pretty confusing. Two switches? Or is the "24V/15A" upper right just saying what the switch type is?

Re: Bargain R 26 for someone

Engine and frame don't match. Looks like the engine is a mid '50s R25/3.

The resistance is 11,8 kOhms. I have no idea what it should be. Points open or closed does not make a difference. Altough I don’t think it should make a difference.
I have notes that the resistance should be around 17K ohms. So you're a little low. Not sure how significant that is.

Re: Very hard to start r60/2

Can you measure the resistance from one spark plug cap to the other? Would be interesting to know what that is. Also, I just remembered the safety gaps on the magnetos. Those two "points" that are below where the spark plug wires connect to the coil...there should be a gap of around 10mm b...

Re: Very hard to start r60/2

Magento issues? A poorly timed magneto...it's timed independent of ignition timing...could result in hard starting. Also, if it's an original magneto, could be the internal wires have broken down resulting in weak spark. Emerald Isle makes a solid state replacement ignition system. Could also be the...

the forks don’t look any different to me than they do on a /5 or later.
I guess this is why I didn't want a US fork setup. Tons of them available with the /5 and on. I wanted something to represent the /2 era and for me, that's the Earles forks.

Re: Fiamm horn/relay question.

Not sure I'm aware of a factory relay with HBS stamped on it. Should be part number 61 31 1 373 585 with 4 pins. The handlebar inputs would be across pins 85 and 86, and power from the battery goes to pin 30 and output to the horns is pin 87. You can test what you have using your logic. If you think...

This picture is 5Mb. There is no "earthly" reason to add images this size. Generally 1-2Mb is way more than enough.

Re: R60/2 Ugly Battery

I also went with a sealed battery that I bought from Vech. The issue that it had, and I can see with your batteries, is that it had spade terminals where the wiring harness had ring terminals. I didn't want to cut off the original harness terminals, so I went to a local electronics shop and found so...
