Thank you for the picture

Thank you for the picture with the dimensions.
I should be able to machine it now.
It looks like it is made out of brass and most likely was a machined casting.
What do you think?

Take care,

R11 rear end cover

Hello,

Anyone happen to have a spare cover that goes over the rear axel on a R11 series 3?
Or one that I could borrow to duplicate.
See picture.

Thank you,

Not sure about this.
The kickstart flange of a R51-R51/3 may fit with a bit of modifications.
I think the bolt pattern is the same as a R12

WW-II war stamps

Hello all,

I just acquired a R12 manufactured on February 20th, 1940 and delivered on February 21st, 1940 to the Luftzeuggruppe XI in Hannover.

Does anyone have pictures of the engine Luftwaffe stamp and any of the other stamps from the war?

Thanky you,

Lee

Lui, Found the flyer on the BMW archive site. Hand written on the 1st page is 1938. But on the 3rd to last page bottom right it shows 1937. Looks like by mid 37 they were starting to phase out the chrome as Germany geared up for the war. Although for a price I would guess you still could get chrome....

R6 Muffler color

Hello,

My R6 has raw steel mufflers installed.
I have seen chrome or black on the late 30's motorcycles.
Anyone happen to know which one is correct or is it what they had in the parts been at the time and either is correct?

Thanks for any information.
