Thanks for the offer

Thanks for the offer payalong. But I just ordered the $222 tools to remove the slingers. Bought a $100 book, $280 to rebuild some things. So I have to keep her now.

Thought I over paid

At $2500 I was hoping that I didnt over pay for my 69 R69S garage find a few weeks ago. Has matching #s. Is the 67 worth more than say my 69? Just asking.... I dont know.

Thanks

WD 40

WD 40 is kinda old school any more. Works well on some things. Try some PB Blaster it works real well for me. Use, let set and use some more. It has more fufu than WD40.

Removing the Mighty 42 Horses

Using the Barrington Motor Works book, that I have to read each paragraph 3-4 times. I got my engine & trans out yesterday. I tried the blocks first under the engine but thought what the heck. Brain burp here. I have a motorcycle jack somewhere around here. Bought it back in 97 when I had my R1...

My thoughts too

Im buying new carb cables, carb rebuild kits it will have new piston rings, tires etc. May just lap the valves and check them while the head is apart. Then ride it for a while to see what else it needs.
Thanks for the input.

How much sludge is to much in oil pan?

I took the oil pan off my 69 R69S. There was a little sludge in the groves in the pan. But could have been there do to the bike not being on the road since 1991. The speedo says it has 12436 miles on it & still works. Is that possible? The inside of the engine is so clean you could eat your lunc...

Works on pads

Try sanding the leading edge of each shoe. Just at the end so its not touching the drum. Works great for car disk pads that squeal. And some manufactures make them that way. And back in the old days they had what was called "arcing the shoes". As written above making sure the shoes fit in ...
