Hydraulic Steering Damper

Not sure if this will help...I have/took some pictures of the damper installed. Maybe you can get an idea of some of the major pieces. My damper is always set in the 0 position (no damping). Here you can see the rear of the damper...the rear mount is just forward of the top engine mount. http://page...

R27 FUEL

Use premium gas in an R27.

R27 FUEL

I don't have any experience with the singles, but it should be the same as with the twin cylinder bikes. I think you can continue to run unleaded fuel of an octane level that doesn't cause your bike to ping. Beyond that, I would watch the valve clearances, especially the exhaust, and watch for insta...

Parts availability R35?

Vech in Mississippi shows he has R35 parts on his website: http://www.benchmarkworks.com/ Other than that, there's Mark Huggett at: http://www.bmwbike.com/ If you're willing to travel and/or are in Germany, Veterama is probably the place to go. The next round is coming up: http://www.vintagebmw.org/...

Show preparation tips

Good one Gator...but where's your info?? I guess no one had any serious inputs. Scott's probably moved on, but here's a web page about Tim Stafford's bikes. Not much on how to show a bike, but Tim's restorations are top notch. http://motos.home.att.net/stafford.htm Duane Ausherman's offers some idea...

Stuck head....

BTDT...is the head/cylinder still on the bike? In my case, I was taking the bike down for slinger cleaning. I could not separate the left head from the cylinder...the right worked out OK. Even before I took the head/cylinder off the bike, I tried other tricks. Heat, rubber mallets (I may have been s...
