And how do I tell if it is a genuine bw38?

What are the key things to look for to ID an original too?

Thanks.

BW 38 sidecar

I have been offered a bw38 sidecar boat only, it's in original condition, blasted and primed. It's missing its boot (trunk) lid though. Anybody bought one recently? I know the repros go for €1300 but I'd be interested to see if anyone has bought one recently?

Thanks.

Many thanks Jack this is exactly what I needed to help me source one. Worth keeping these photos for reference. Does anyone have one for sale?

Regard

Speedo

Thanks Bill, both my R12's are 1939, an original shell, civilian or military would be great. A lot of the shells I've seen have holes drilled in them to fix the ignition in place but the original ignition boards were held in place with a pronged frame which was welded inside the shell (see attached)...

Speedo

It seems to fit in the shells I have on both my R12's. I've looked for pictures of original R12 shells but no success so far. Could you email me some photos of the ones you have? If your shells are original and you're looking for speedo maybe we could do something? As far as I know it's post war GDR...
