Installing new Bevel gear set 35:9 - can't get it quiet

The bike came with a side car ratio final drive and I'm now (at last) installing the last purchase from Mark Huggett, a new 35:9 gear set. Helped by Jan Withagen's excellent video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dBh7WkNVGQ), I'm pretty close to all the factory specs, but still, when I turn the spr...

Quick question regarding rear drive assembly

I enclosed a picture from Salis:
Nr. 20 is the inner part of the needle bearing and it has an internal groove on one side.
Should this groove face to the inside of the final drive or should it face to the outer side, the drive shaft side?

Correct 90 SAE oil for rear drive - R51/3 ?

The manual states 90 grade, but I would like to know what API type should I purchase.
As far as I can remember, it is GL-5 but I might be wrong here.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Probably the only weak point in this bike

Well I'm also reporting back :) After some adventures with this plate, I think that there is only 1 good solution, and that is to take it out, clean it thoroughly and examine carefully. For example - I found 2 solder points that where loose. The solder drip was there but I was able to peal it of wit...

Fit too tight. They need to be looser then you would say at first sight. I haven't measured my newly refurbished valve guides yet, but I can surely feel some wobble. Do you mean some minor side play?

Or the valve stem was not straight.
