Re: Only modern tires from now on....

The Heidenau K34s are listed as Closeout at the big retailers like Revzilla. I hope they aren't going away as well.

Re: Only modern tires from now on....

What's the right size of Avon Roadrider for an R27 (3.25x18)? I've read 90/90, is that correct? Also, what kind of mileage do you get? I've only run Heidenau K34, which are cheaper, and handle great in my opinion, but I only get 3,000 miles on the rear, and would be open to better options for cost-p...

Re: Who is your go-to parts supplier?

Vintagebeemerparts (called Spike Buck on eBay) has never failed me. Fairly good website, quality parts, good prices, and he ships pretty much same-day. https://vintagebeemerparts.com/

Re: Swap Meet in North Carolina

Cool, this is the first I've heard of it. I'll try to make it, if the weather's decent I'll ride down.

Re: Another year on an R27

Off to another motorcycle fest today, the Virginia Moto Classic in Richmond. Very much a hipster vibe, but some cool bikes. For BMW, there were a few /5s, some later airheads, and maybe four or five pre-70s. I met a guy I follow on Instagram, @welltraveledbmw. He has an R50/2 that’s been in his fami...

Re: Staying Logged In?

I've had lots of trouble with it, too. I had a long post drafted last week with a few photos, then hit preview and it went to the login required page. I had to login and start the post over again.

Fathers Day ride

I had such a great ride today. I headed west from home towards Farmville, a nice college town, for lunch. It's a good destination because I can get there mostly on narrow, no-painted-lines backroads, and maybe see a dozen other vehicles. Just how I like it. The bike was running so well and is such a...

Re: Carb slide top nut loose

To close this out: Thanks to Vech my carb nut issue appears to be solved, the o-ring was the fix. I installed the o-ring, cleaned all the grimy threads really well, then coated them with a little grease as suggested by the Barrington book. No movement over a 25 mile test ride so I'm calling it fixed...

Thanks Vech! O ring is ordered and I should be back on the road shortly.

Re: Photos: MOA Rally Thursday, June 8

Great day at the rally on Thursday. Excellent exhibit of vintage bikes as the central focus of the big hall, good job VBMWMO! Some photos of the pre-70s bikes at this link, mostly the singles, there weren't many outside of the vintage exhibit. The weathered R27 outside is mine, a nice 200-mile round...
