Re: /2 flywheel bolt

The /2 models had Slotted M8 x 1.0 pitch screws. They were 20mm long and are available on Salis here: https://bmwclassicmotorcycles.com/index ... 1210070155

There are 6.

So you would need an M8 x 1.0 pitch tap.

Re: No spark after a few seconds!!

Andrew, sorry to hear that! A few things I would check: 1) Are you sure there is no spark? I don't want to question your methods, but I know I have had this happen to me as well and I thought there was no spark when in realty I was not able to see it because I was too busy kicking or the plug was no...

Re: 1965 R69s powder coating cylinders

Agreed on paint! That is what I use!!!

I use Duplicolor DE1635 semi-gloss engine paint with Ceramic. Good up to 500 degrees F. This has worked on all of my cylinder applications!

Re: R69S hydraulic vs friction damper

Vech is 100% correct as usual! I have restored both my R 69 S and R 50 S with the original hydraulic dampers and I am happy with them. I have a lathe, and I have made sure that all the linkage is tight, lubed, and in perfect condition! Both linkages for both of those machines came to me loose with w...

Re: Speedo for R60/2 with sidecar

For a 25/8 you need a W=0.75 for KPH or a 1,2 for MPH. Salis lists them here https://www.bmwclassicmotorcycles.com/parts/all-parts/instruments-4/ Spike buck has them here https://vintagebeemerparts.com/new-vintage-bmw-r50-r69s-speedometer-for-25-8-rear-drive-new-62-12-0-000-090/ without the BMW logo...

Re: Speedo for R60/2 with sidecar

What is the rear ratio? It is stamped on the final drive in the rear. A number /number. Then we can tell you the ratio of speedo that matches that rear.
