I have a pair of original

I have a pair of original Enduros. They are in excellent condition but even new (1969) they were crude and rough. I like them because they are original or at least original after-market accessories. The reproductions are built much, much better and the hanging hardware is excellent. Some folks have ...

I don't really know anyone

I don't really know anyone personally that has Coker's but they do have that "look" all the car show guys like. Probably best to "show" only if you are talking about 2-wheels. Safety has to be more than looks if you really ride your bike. About the Heid's... a fantastic long wear...

Had to do the same with my low-bars... loved the "look" but they were not conducive for long riding. They were not original to the US model bikes anyway so I restored the high bars. Really makes a difference if you are 6+ feet tall, at least for me. Can ride all day comfortably with no pro...

silicone gaskets

Don't they sell these gaskets in other colors besides dayglow orange??

Ha. I agree. Been told they are that color so you can better see any leaks but not sure if that is actually true.

I never have used silicone

I never have used silicone gaskets on my /2 but have done so on my Ural valve covers. Original primitive gasketing from Russia sucked and the cork ENGO ones were not any better. Someone came of with these silicone ones and I have never had any problems with them at all. That's barring a mechanic fri...

What he said, ditto I have a lot of powder coated bolt-on accessories and parts done on various bikes. But not the tin. Don't do it, the first time there os a chip or scratch: #1) impossible to paint match. There is no such thing as spot powdercoating. Its the whole thing or nothing. #2) if you do n...

Period correct Heidenau's are equally scary on those grooves. Replacing when they wear out but the damn things just won't wear!

That sucks about the tank, real amateur stuff. Can it be salvaged or are you going to get another tank? Just wondering where the line between replacing and repairing goes?
