Re: R75/5 Alternator / Voltage regulator

Glad you narrowed the problem down. I thought the power output for the /5 and /7 series bikes were different and that was due to the different diameters of the rotors. I'm surprised that the /7 rotor would directly fit.

Welcome to the forum!! Other names that come to mind are Clearview and Parabellum. Also Rifle. Would have to check their sites for applicability.

Re: Wixom fairing

You don't see those much. I guess you have to be a fan of having everything covered...takes more work just to get back into the valve covers, etc. Here's another image on a bike that was sold: https://re-psycle.com/Motorcycles-BMW-R69S-1967-Lithopolis-OH-94183119-cd90-4294-b54e-a66c0030ab20 I notice...

Re: 1965 R69s w/4100 miles

Welcome to the forum! So what kind of German cars are you into? BMW...Audi...Porsche...Mercedes? All very nice. Hope you can bring the bike back to life. Is there a story to why it's been sitting so long? The top case is also a Wixom. As for motor work, at 4100 miles hopefully there won't be anythin...

Re: Carb Work R69S

George - I'll have a check next time. I wish BMW had used a hex cap instead of that slotted thin cap. I really struggled to get the air horns back on the carb. I know it's a fine dance with looseness in the carb attach and position of the horns...got to get things just right to slip it by and into p...

Replacing brakes is a lot cheaper than doing a top end. Just sayin'!

Re: R90/6 electrical question

OK, I'm going to go way out on a limb and step off into the unknown!! I'm seeing in the handlebar start button two terminals, a 50 and an 85. I think the 50 is a red herring, but the 85...when you push the start button, you basically send power to 85 on the headlight terminal board which is connecte...
