See...that's why this doesn't appear in the original BMW parts list!
It only needed a little persuasion. Seriously if you look on the web for R26 and R27 pictures of the left side (muffler) you will notice several have the dust cover, you wont be able to see the screws holding the hubs.

Front wheel wobbling

Front wheel wobbling https://live.staticflickr.com/31337/50081343236_14733c8216_o.jpg Click_Image_for_Video I had to move Zenaida out of the lift to make room for the GS but when I push it I felt the front wheel wobbling, side to side. I’m going to unmount it to check the hub and axle. It was the sm...

Re: 1972 R75/5 SWB Toaster/Coaster Mystery

srankin and weberkane both have great obvious suggestions. Always check the easy stuff, like a battery poll, key not making good contact or vibrating away from the connection plate? I remember during a long trip the generator frame that the points plate screws to cracked. The points plate felt lose ...

Re: BMW R6?

It looks like a R27, no upper engine mount like a R26.

Always strange when after so many years of owning a BMW you don't know the correct model.

Maybe a Dover White burned because of age?

White Lines

A few days will pass before I have the white paint on the gas tank and fenders. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50079663866_ba2cca8487_o.jpg Ran into a problem with the white base coast paint on hand. It would not mix well and was a slight grey instead of pure white. It has been on the shelf to ...

Re: Parts almost ready

Hi Are you planning on masking for the pinstripes? Just my 2c, My tank was done this way and the rest of the bike is hand done. I really wish I had had the tank done by hand. The taped stripes on the tank are perfect but it does not look right. Everything started with me trying to clean the tank pa...

Re: 1972 R75/5 SWB Toaster/Coaster Mystery

Hi Kevin, I always check the obvious and easy first. What about debris inside the tank and jets, or water? Regardless how many miles the points, spark plugs, wires and boots (5k OHms) are they may have been shelve stored for years. Can you switch one electric component at the time with old/new units...

Parts almost ready

This afternoon I scuffed the remaining Zanieda sheet metal using 600grit wet/dry paper. I will likely begin taping tomorrow. Then after taping the white stripes, I will spray the white paint and remove all that tape. Then the time will have come to spray clear coat. https://live.staticflickr.com/655...
