I would use a 12 volt bulb

I think I would change the bulb to a 12 volt bulb....Mottorad Eletrik (Rick) would know which one to use... it is the same as the /6 and later bikes use..... The 6 volt bulb would work until it burned out...it is just there for resistance...so the only time it is fully on is when the key is ON and t...

Most Butterheads are gone by now.

Just my thinking... but I would guess most Butterheads are gone by now... I once had a bike with them on it...it had 42k and did it's thing several times before I replaced the heads with those NEW ones made in Europe and did away with the problem...but I would guess most have done their thing by now...

Modern Fuel has a service life of 90 days

Today our fuel starts to go bad at 90 days... so removing it would be the best idea.... and running the carbs dry a good one too... A fully charged battery will freeze at -70 degrees...of course a dead battery will freeze at 32 degrees (water) so I disconnect the battery...just one side... and if I ...

Why the charge light ?

Maybe I can clear up some of the confusion as to why you need that light..( resistance in that line)... The voltage regulator has several hot wires... one is directly to the battery...so it knows the state of charge in the battery... the other is thru the key switch thru a low resistance line..(char...

No need to change the wiring

When you convert 6volts to 12 volts there is no need to change the wiring...just the bulbs and battery... leave the horn alone...it will just honk louder... won't hurt it at all... lots of batteries will fit the frame... I use a 12V7L-B when I do conversions...easy to locate and almost always on sal...

PowerDynamo sells them...

The company in Berlin sells an Alternator only system.... I have never sold one, or nor do I carry them.... I just can not justify that much money for an Alternator only system.... You might try Flying Pot... He has a alternator conversion system... it sounds pretty good... Joel Rapose PowerDynamo I...

Just wondering ? Why is your customer not pleased with a sleeved cylinder ? I have done many while rebuilding car engines and they always worked out well.... better than original surface finish and never ever overheated, as strong if not stronger than original and able to go back to original bore......

I saw some stuff at a gun

I saw some stuff at a gun show where they were welding beer cans together... it was amazing... I think it was brazing using a low melting alloy of some sort....sure did a slick job on aluminum cases and tiny parts... they were selling the stuff and telling folks that they could weld up holes in alum...
