2 steps forward, 1 step back - Clutch Plate Thickness

Got the heads back and I'm excited. With the time, effort and cash that went into overhauling these parts I almost feel silly I didn't do the 100% restore and blast and clean and repaint etc... oh well. I believe this can still be accomplished at a latter date if I ever get there - but for now I hav...

Re: Ok explain the patina thing to me

I'm leaving my bike ratty and dishevelled. For me it was initially a cost consideration, as paint and powdercoat (and hand done pinstripes) cost money that I'd rather spend on pistons. And while I have not completely ruled out the idea of doing all that in the future, I will say its kinda nice to no...

This is not mine, nor do I know the seller. It came up in my local listings and thought it was interesting enough to share. https://austin.craigslist.org/mcy/d/elgin-1964-bmw-r60-2-vintage-motorcycle/7194202924.html https://images.craigslist.org/00x0x_hixytk6tNjs_0zt0t2_1200x900.jpg Some really weir...

Adjustment Overkill?

Tommy - horn is beeping now - thanks. I just had to crank that front screw down further than expected. Frostman - I've heard a lot about that book - man it's pricey though. I've accumulated a lot of literature and pretty much have everything I need at this point - but I do hope to check that book ou...

Re: Old dirty r69 - from basket to bike.

Thanks Tommy. Missed a step in my photo process - hope it's fixed now.
There seems to be a larger adjustment screw on the back of the horn as well - I saw it articulating a mechanism inside the horn - but I couldn't tell what it was adjusting. Maybe I'll just keep turning screws till it works...

Six Volt Sparks / Bosch Horn Rebuild

This is my 1st time working with a 6 volt system. The ignition switch plate & color coding of the wires was a little tricky at first. I was able to figure it out though - as there's really not much here. I don't even have blinkers. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/ACtC-3dzSciC3tr27TNeO1tUePtfJRC...
