new R65LS owner

Hello everyone, As of this evening, I am the new owner of a 1983 R65LS in pretty good condition. Other than missing battery covers (the owner gave me replacement ones that just need to be paint matched) and some rust on the exhaust pipes, it is in very good condition. Two questions so far ... the st...

R69US seat removal

I have a full seat on my R69. Is there an easy way to remove the seat to get at the battery?

Antipodean Suppliers

Hi there,

I'm thinking pretty seriously about an R60 or R69S and am wondering about the availability of parts in Australia?

Is there a recommended BMW specialist or wrecker in Sydney? (I'm from Newcastle, NSW)

Thanks.

Cylinder head questions

My mechanic is tearing down the engine on my R26. He says it looks like the engine had seized at some point, and asked me about when the bike "stopped." The bike sat for 20+ years and I have no knowledge of a seizure event. My mechanic says it appears the engine has 50 to 60K on it in addition to ha...

R27 pictures of Horn/coil/steering dampener cluster

I'm restoring an R27 that came to me in a box. I've looked at both the BMW R26-27 repair and parts manuals, but it's not clear how the horn and coil are mounted. Could someone provide me a picture of these and how they are mounted?

thanx,
Kronos

considering purchace of R60

Are there any issues that I should consider re: a 1958 BMW R60?

Is there anything that went on with the early models that I should be thinking about before I commit?

First slinger clean and general tune up

Bike looks good after a clean. I have made myself a list of parts I might need for the first slinger clean, engine tune up and recommission. Am I missing anything - is there something that I should do while I am in there? I'm waiting on a barrington manual - but I'd like to put a parts order in befo...
