R69 carbs

I can't help with the carbs but I'd be interested to know what pre-war stuff you have for sale. Will you be at The Airhead Event in July?

I picked up a set on Ebay

I picked up a set on Ebay about a year ago. As Mike says - they help a bit but it's still a ridiculously fiddly job - they're still too thick. Your way works better. My final solution was to nag friends to look in their rubbish drawers to see if they'd got any of those awful, thin multi-spanners tha...

Sum Carb

FWIW I had trouble finding an original Sum in decent condition and bought a new repro only reluctantly. I've since bought an original but it stays in a drawewr - the bike runs much better with the new version. I found that the jetting wasn't quite right on the new carb and I had toplay around with t...

Yes. Thanks for that
but I think I'm sorted now through a different forum. If it comes to nothing I'll be in touch.

Bosch dynamo cover

I believe for the twincam bikes, that you need the version of the cover with the bottom edge rounded out to fit the motor casting. That's my/our suspicion, anyhow...

-Chris

Yep - that's the one. I've been looking on German Ebay for about a year now but nothing (usable)so far.
Thanks

B/3 Bosch Dynamo cover

Does anyone know of a supplier for the end cover of a b/3 dynamo end cover - the cap that goes over the voltage regulator on R5 and R51 models? I've tried all the usual German suppliers but they say this glorified tin can is unobtainium on its own and can only be bought as part of a new repro dynamo...

dynamo output

Are we talking about the generator output? If so, 2.5A @ 6V is only 15W and will likely be insufficient to charge the battery when loaded with the headlight. -Chris Re-reading what Wolfgang has put I think my earlier statement was wrong and Chris is right. Wolfgang said that he tested the output wh...

You don't state which model, though I guess that they'll all be about the same for the pre-war models. When I got my R12 I sent the mag to RRC-Tuning for them to check over. Wolfgang wrote back - the dynamo works perfect. I use a 35W bulb and a new battery for appliance and check the rest of Ampere,...
