Re: ‘57 R50 Question

Well maybe someone could set up a betting ring and the guy closest to the dollars actually spent in the first two years, wins a prize. My guess is that you will spend another $10,000 in the next two years. After that we can draw the prize and then set up a new gamble for the following two years. I h...

Re: Brake Pedal Extender

You could take the pedal off, apply heat and then redesign the alignment so the pad you press with your foot is positioned further to the right of its current position. It may be that the pedal has previously been bent to the left by a spill, so you may just be taking it back to where it was always ...

Re: Any of you guys live in the state of Wisconsin?

well I have made some enquirers re shipping to Australia and that sounds workable. Anyone in the close proximity of Neenah Wisconsin who could take a look at the bike and let me know any non obvious problems, would be appreciated. I guess at the worst I buy it and hope there are some internals in th...

Any of you guys live in the state of Wisconsin?

The reason being I would be very appreciative if someone from the club could go and look at this bike for me and tell me if it as good as it looks on line. It is at a ...

The dreaded Big End Knock at your door

I have a second R69s engine. I have had it on the shelf for over 20 years and I recently had an opportunity to throw it into a frame and give it a run. I had a set of new barrels and pistons to lob onto the engine - which I did. The engine, if one is deaf, runs beautifully. Starts first kick, pulls ...

Re: R69S hesitation, crackling sound, uneven power at 40mph

The crackling noise may be un-burnt fuel igniting in your exhaust - an air leak between muffler and head pipe may contribute to this. How do your plugs look. Is the bike running rich? Have you checked your main jet size and your needle height. You may be running rich in that mid range because your n...

Re: Oil Pan Face Flattening R50/2

Yes easy to fix as per previous suggestion. The real issue I believe is what causes the over tightening in the first place. The problem I believe is over-tightening caused by the fact that the holes for most of the bolts go through to the sump. So the oil finds it's way down the threads - so when th...
