Since it's just the pin, I think I'll try the steel rod approach. See if I can fiddle with it to get a nice tight fit as you suggested.

Those pressures don't look too horribly low...you could try and see what you think of the feel/performance. Yeah, I think the battery is done for sure. No kill switch, that I know of on this bike, so that's why I quickly got that battery disconnected. I did replace the spark plug wires with a new set from Bobs. 1k ohm.
