Springs

Depending on the weight of your Pillion Passenger you could fit heavier sidecar springs . I have fitted sidecar springs with the preload knob on soft . Have also set the adjustment lever to the inside rather than sticking out . The front and rear shocks are definitely rebuildable or you can replace ...

Personal decision

Like Schraeder said, this is a personal decision. I've ridden with naked bikes, a Pop Dryer fairing, a Windjammer SS, Luftmeister, a Daytona, an R90S fairing and everything in between. My personal favorite for long-distance is the BMW RT faring. Second is the RS fairing with 'S' bars (which I curren...

Kit available

There is a kit available that consists of a guide to allow you to drill the shaft and install a new oversize screw. I'll have to look for a source for you but I did it for a friend's bike a couple of years ago. However, I do advise that you think about some of the crank-mounted electronic ignitions....

Purist

"Purist?" Is that a new insult for people who hate to see classic motorcycles molested?

Good Question

You have a really good question. For any bearing that is sealed on both sides I would just pack it with grease and let her run. Very interested in what others would say. If you don't get an answer I suggest you contact Barrington Motorworks and ask. But by all means please let us know what they say.

Idle mixture

Also make sure the idle mixture is adjusted correctly. Mis-adjusted idle mixture can cause an idle that is reluctant to settle down.

Congrats

The problem was a bad condenser . . . Wallet's $12 lighter and I'm back on the road . . . .

Anyway, thanks for the pointers!

Cool. Glad you're back on the road.

Looks Good

Looks good Kurt. I've been using a sealed security alarm battery for the last three years or so that I bought at Batteries Plus. It also uses spade plugs so just crimped some on my original wires. I also made a pigtail for a charger so that I could charge every few weeks without taking things apart....
