It wasn't a Megola. It had a 3 cylinder engine, the fenders were beautiful, sleek, art deco style, solo seat. I think handle bars were a stamped sheet metal. the whole bike was a piece of art. I think I have some pictures of it and may have written the name on the back, I'll check. Maybe the current...

Are the threads totally stripped out or just the top few crossed threaded ?
Make a thread chasing tap if just a few are dinged up and screw it in from the bottom if there is room.
Probably no need to harden the tap.

Thanks for the suggestions and posting the pictures. I've been thinking for some time about building another conv.
and correcting all the mistakes I made the first time and put the original matching # engine back in the donor frame.

scrape the paint out of the #'s on the frame with an ice pick type tool before you paint.
